Phoebe Shalom Odom and Zachary Morrison Johnson met at their Alma Mater of Southeastern University. Phoebe was hosting a worship event one night in October and Zach was in attendance. Both agree that this meeting was perfect for them, in that Worship is truly in both of their hearts as a passion and calling.
After a riveting remark about ramen noodles to break the ice, the two had a good laugh and began a conversation.
Immediately after connecting they realized they had a natural spark with one another that was kindled through many nights spent talking about theology, music, and so many books.
Their first date was at a small sushi restaurant in downtown lakeland where they enjoyed… you guessed it- ramen noodles.
Phoebe is from Arizona and Zachary from both Florida and Georgia with family on both coasts of the United States. As they got to know each other better they came to realize that Zachary had been in Arizona before on a tour with SEU Worship ( A group they both were apart of) at a camp that Phoebe and her brothers had attended and served at for years! This connection only fostered the sense of home that the two found in each other.
Zachary and Phoebe attended Passion Conference for the past few years together, and it has been one of their favorite memories. They love starting off each new year with one another in the presence of God. Some of their other favorite activities include writing music together, discussing Christian Apologetics, and disagreeing about what a cinematic masterpiece Frozen II is.
The next year it became time for Zachary to leave Southeastern. The two braved long distance, and Zachary took on a position teaching Music Academy at a private christian school in Atlanta. He has been doing this, alongside coaching both football and soccer, and Phoebe had been completing her degree in Worship Ministry.
One weekend, Zachary had told Phoebe he was flying in to Florida for a visit, and she was so excited to see him! He completely surprised her by coming a day earlier and planning with all of their friends in town to propose then! He popped the question under the tree where they first met.
Their love story is one that points to the Heavenly Father and passion for perseverance. The two of them are dedicated to serve one another for the rest of their lives, and are honored to celebrate their union with you this July!
